I was half way through watching HellBoy 2 when I got a call from my good friend Tellman over in Vermont. Now if you know Tellman or you’re on any of his email lists you’ll know that he takes FAST action, basically when he has an idea he doesn’t hang around!
This was no exception! I was just getting into this great movie when the phone rang. It about 4pm in the afternoon over here in the UK.
The first thing Tellman asked me was “am I a Ninja?” What else can I say but “yes!” when it comes to graphics I’m a Ninja (lol).
The long and the short of it was Tellman had just set up a custom branded version of AWeber and wanted a logo. And the name of his new autoresponder service…. NinjaResponder!
This was by no means a normal situation, Tellman needed a logo for this ASAP (hence the need for a Ninja!). Usually I get a week or two do create a logo.
Tellman’s design brief was simple… design a logo that has the text “NinjaResponder.com” It needed to use a Ninja throwing star or some other kind of Ninja graphic… and that was it, nice and simple.
2 hours later here’s what I came up with for Tellman…

As you can see I managed to use a 5 pointed Ninja star in the design, the one I included on the “j” was Tellman’s idea which I thought worked really well.
The font I used for this was called “Republika Italic”. I needed to adjust the font a bit to make it more legible. The software I used was a mixture of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
