Today I read a great post by Michel Fortin, it had to be the last word in finding viable niche markets! He summed it up so clearly with these 4 steps that must be taken…

1. Viability
2. Sourcing
3. Website
4. Marketing

He said that Viability is the most important one of all.

You see most people just do keyword research, you know… looking for how many people search “x” keywords during the past 30 days.

Then if they find a keyword with lots of searches they thing they’ve hit the mother load. When in fact you need to go far beyond this to get the real answers behind the profitability of any niche market.

Recently Michel Fortin launched his “Marketing E.S.P” product which explains exactly how the top marketers online determine the viability of a niche market before getting into it and extracting maximum profits.

Is this course any good?

I honestly don’t know, but what I do know is is that everything Michel does is of the highest possible quality and value.

Just recently a good friend and expert programmer (Michel Komarov) came up with this interesting twist on the popup window concept.

It’s possible you’ve seen something similar to this probably not done in the same way. You’ll know what I mean when you check this out for yourselves.

What I especially like about what Michel has created is it’s unobtrusiveness. Despite the fact that popups work like gangbusters sometimes you want something that’s a little more subtle and perhaps even subliminal (to a certain degree).

With that said go take a look at what he’s created, it costs nothing to use and Michel even gives you all the code you need along with installation instructions, all for zero cost! (Don’t ask me why, something like this could easily be worth around 50 bucks).

(I almost forgot) …when I spoke with Michel last time he hinted that he might create a WordPress plug-in for this (I hope he does it!).

Sometimes it’s a good thing not to believe the hype in headlines and web copy because often they’re full of false promises, exaggerated claims of riches and way too many emotionally charged benefits to count. (I say sometimes because hype in the right places can actually help, but you need to know how to use it).

It’s when you go overboard that the picture changes.

Terry Dean (a great copywriter and and internet marketer of the highest order) wrote this brilliant post on his blog today you really MUST read if you write your own web copy.

If you’ve been marketing anything online for even the shortest period of time I’m sure you’ve heard about the importance of listbuilding.

Listbuilding has been going on for as long as emails could be entered into a website web form, yet so many people just don’t fully appreciate the value of doing this one simple thing.

You see whilst you could spend countless hours and untold dollars generating traffic for your website it’s always going to be a “one hit” affair (or maybe 2 or 3 if some of your visitors come back to your site again).

Now the thing about listbuilding is when someone visits your website for the first time you offer them something of value in exchange for their email address. That’s literally all your website does…

Take a look at these examples of how I build my own lists of subscribers…

When you visit those pages above you’ll see that the main focus of the page is to get your name and email address in exchange for something of value.

Now, just in case you’re wondering how well those pages convert visitors into subscribers here are those stats…

= 47.3% of visitors become subscribers.

= 58.8% of visitors become subcribers.

Those figures are reached whenever I send targeted joint venture traffic to those pages. They will vary all the time depending on the quality of the traffic they get. But nevertheless they convert traffic into subscribers extremely well.

Here’s where the power of listbuilding comes into it’s own because now you have that persons email (and permission to email them) you can send them to any website you choose.

It can be sending your subscribers to your own website again, it could be your blog or it could even be another website you’re recommending. Of course you still have to use the power of persuasion to get them to those website, that’s a whole different conversation.

But nevertheless once you start listbuilding you can really start to see a difference to your bottom line (whatever that might be for you).

Just recently listbuilding has become a huge phenomenon online with Tellman Knudson and Shawn Casey’s recent launch of their List Pros intensive listbuilding training course.

What’s different about their course is it costs nearly $2,000 to attend and lasts only 6 weeks, it takes your listbuilding skills to a whole new level (as you can imagine for that kind of cost!).

Anyway… that’s not really the point of what I’m about to share with you, I just wanted to illustrate how important listbuilding is and that people will pay vast sums of cash to learn how to do it properly.
