So how do you “literally” sell anything online, or to put it another way what’s proving to be the best way to sell products online?

In one word… video.

If you’ve not got into creating your own videos and you have something to sell online (even as an affiliate) then now’s the time to get started because you’re missing out on something very powerful.

I would go so far as to say that video is quickly becoming the #1 method used to sell online.

Your Fast Track To Free Website Templates

Free website templates help budding internet entrepreneurs overcome one of their biggest hurdles and that is to create and build a website that will send their message out to the world in a consistent, congruent and professional manner, without spending thousands of dollars on professional design.

This list of places where you can access free website templates will flatten this hurdle so that it’s no more than a tiny undulation in your journey to web success.

A few tips before you begin. When you are searching through a site that offers free website templates make sure you understand the “rights” associated with use of the templates.

For example:
Are they for personal use only?
Are you required to keep a live link back to the download site on your webpage?

Some sites go as far as to mention that the images used are royalty free.

I also suggest you gain at least a basic understanding of the creative commons licensing, who knows one day you may be submitting a website template, for use by others, to one of these sites as well.

Doing your own due diligence is very important, without it you never know who might come knocking on your door demanding retribution – ignorance is no excuse.

197 free templates, categorized for ease of use. Go straight to your niche of choice, there are even templates specifically for wordpress and joomla platforms too. A link back to the site is required.

78 CSS coded free templates over 6 pages. No need to link back to the site, complete freedom. Niches include: travel, software, web design, real estate, model agency, book author, call of duty, movies, gaming, family, architecture

3. oswd.org
2080 free open source designs. This site accepts contributions from the broad community of designers. Open source means that you have full rights to do whatever you like with them. You are free to link back to the site or not. The keyword and designer search does mean a bit more work to uncover suitable designs, but well worth it.

4. dreamtemplate.com
122 free open source website templates. Scroll to near the bottom of the home page to access the link to view all free templates. No categorized search can view by oldest, newest and random.

5. stylishtemplate.com
192 free designs. Niches include business, personal, construction, design and consultancy, electronics and generic. Contains some stunning designs. Use of the free templates from this site requires a link back to the webpage.

6. freecsstemplates.org
431 free CSS templates: tableless, lightweight, W3C compliant with strict XHTML and photos from within the public domain. No search capacity, browse only. Link back to site required.

7. opendesigns.org
1455 designs. Open source CSS templates, each providing detail of its compliance with standards. No search capacity, browse only. Generic, business and personal themes.

8. openwebdesign.org
3707 designs. Very sophisticated search options by Keyword, Designer, Template ID, Advanced. The advanced option allows you to specify standards, contrast, colours, CSS.

9. mastertemplates.com
90 free templates, broad range of niches including love, ebook, music, web traffic. A link back to the site is required.

10. templatesweb.com/blog/?s=free
220 free templates, niches include: business, exotic birds, luxury cars, music, radio, literature, advertising, printing. Use requires link back to the author. This site includes templates from some of the other sites mentioned here.

So there you have it – 10 sites to browse through to pick and choose a free website template that’s right for you. No more stress, bother or anxiety. Go forth and choose from this vast array of free website templates and give your site that professional look, it deserves.

Profitable Website Ideas – In Just One Click?

Your probably thinking one of two things right now:
” Yeah, right” or “Show me where I can get these profitable website ideas in just one click”

I’ll share with you later how you can get a ready researched idea with just one click of your mouse.

When you get a bright idea for a website, if you know the process to follow you’ll be able to very quickly assess it for its profit potential on the internet.

Here’s my 7 step checklist for assessing profitable website ideas.

Step 1. It’s important to choose a subject that you have some interest in, so you won’t get bored, after all this is a business you are setting up, so you want something that excites you enough to keep going.

Step 2. Make a list of your hobbies, passions and areas where you have some expertise or life experience. Perhaps you’ve overcome an illness via alternative means, successfully adopted a child. just let the ideas flow.

Step 3. Select the 5 from your list that most interest you and then investigate each one, reporting your findings in a spreadsheet for easy comparison.

Step 4. Think about who can benefit from your information? Where are they, what do they do, how do they access the internet, are there sites or groups where your potential customers gather? Build a profile of your “ideal” client. Age, gender, hobbies, problems, desires, location, socio-economic etc.

Step 5. Market research: This is probably the most important of the 7 steps because this is where you will discover the answer to your question, “Is this a potentially profitable website idea?”

5a. Discover what books and monthly magazines are published on your topic.

A great place to research this is http://www.amazon.com and look in the books and magazines sections.
If you find a good number of books and magazines then potentially you have a winner. Publishers don’t waste money on unprofitable ideas.

If you find that there are no monthly magazines or books published on your topic, go back to step 1, immediately. DO NOT WASTE TIME on an unprofitable idea, no matter how much you like the idea.

Step 6. Find out how many searches are being carried out each month on topics around your profitable website idea. A site you can use for this is:

This will also provide you with lots of other relevant keyword phrases.

Definition: Keyword phrase is the term that you and other people put into an online search box.

How many searches do you need to gauge potential profitability?

As a guide at least 3,000 per month, less than this and it’s considered too small for profitability. Next you take a look at how many competing websites there are for you keyword phrase. To do this put your keyword phrase into a google search and then see how many websites come up, you want a figure of around 30,000 or lower.

If your research shows that your keyword phrase doesn’t match these parameters STOP and start at Step 1 with your next potentially profitable website idea.

Step 7. Are people talking about your topic idea?

Go to Google.com, and conduct a search on your topic / phrase. Then click on the Show options link, near the top left of your screen.

A new list of links will appear to the left of your search results

Find and click on the “forums” link. This will bring up all the forums that mention your keyword phrase.
If you find a good selection of forums on your topic bookmark the page.

You will use these as a resource later to enhance your knowledge on your subject, expecially finding out what problems people are having, provide support to others and build your reputation as an expert.

So in a nutshell if:

1. You have topic/s you’re interested in
2. There are published, hard copy books and magazines on the topic
3. Online searches are between 30.000 and 100,000 per month
4. There are online communities talking about your topic

Then, congratulations, you’ve confirmed the potential of your profitable website ideas and are well ahead of most people who grab any idea and run with it without taking the time to do their research first. They put in hours of time and effort for now reward, and then wonder why.

How To Immediately Multiply Your Profits

In my last post I mentioned a couple of thank you page profit secrets. There’s one I’ve missed out that I learned this one from a brilliant marketer called Stephen Pierce back in 2003.

It’s also something Amazon do all the time.

Here’s how it works…

Someone buys your product and proves they a) are interested in a specific subject b) have money to spend and c) trust you enough to buy from you.

So what you do is right below your product download link you include this text…

Customers who bought (your product name) also bought:

Then you list 2 or 3 similar products to yours (they could even be affiliate links if not your own products).

Right after this you also say…

Since you’re interested in (your product niche category) you may also be interested in:

Then you list 2 or 3 other related products from within your niche.

What you’ll find is once people start buying products on a subject they can go into a buying frenzy and buy many more other products in your niche. So why not help them by adding these 2 phrases to your thank you page.

Stephen says there are 3 points for maximum effectiveness when taking this approach:

1. Use only directly relevant products
2. Use solid products that are proven to deliver results
3. Use products that YOU yourself have purchased and tested.

The results you can get from this simple strategy have the potential to immediately boost your profits and help you sell more products just seconds after the initial sale.

Thank You Page Profit Secrets

There are two kinds of thank you pages… The first is the page you arrive at after you’ve just subscribed to someones list, the second is the thank you page you arrive at after you’ve just ordered a product.

What I’m about to reveal to you is how you can turn these thank you pages into additional streams of income, fewer refunds and increase customer satisfaction.

Here’s where it all goes wrong… many people just create a thank you page that says something like…

“Thank you for subscribing, here’s your ebook and video as promised” or the alternative if they’ve ordered a product… “Thank you for your order below are your download links”.

Both are wasted opportunities.

Here’s how to turn it all around..

1. On your thank you for subscribing page…

Include a sales letter below your download links that sells another of your products (thanks to Terry Dean for pioneering this approach!). It doesn’t even have to be a sales letter it could be a review of a product you own, you just earn commissions on the sales you make from it. Easy.

How about you contact other list owners within your niche and offer to swap thank you page space with them. So on your thank you page below your download links you promote their free offer and they do the same for you on their thank you page (do you see the power of this simple idea?).

2. On your product thank you page seen by your customers…

Again you can include a sales letter for one of your products below your download links or include a recommendation on another related product you can earn affiliate commissions on. If you include a sales letter below your download links make it a special offer for customers only.

What I also want you to do is to consider how you can reduce refunds and improve customer satisfaction on this page.

Here’s how it works…

I’m sure you’ve read through many sales letters in your time that give you lots of great information about the product they’re offering you and all the bonuses you get. After all they want you to buy their product right? So they give you a full list of the benefits and features.

Lets say you order this product and you get to the thank you page. Most of the time you’ll see the classic text… “Thank you for your order below you’ll find all the download links” or words to that effect.

The problem is by the time you get to the thank you page many of the benefits and features of each product have been pushed to the back of your mind in all the excitement. On this thank you page you can see all the links and assume you’re getting everything you ordered. You start clicking each link to get everything downloaded and onto your computer, stands to reason, right!

What can happen is people don’t download everything right away, they go away then come back again a few days later to download the files they paid for. By this time the value of the product and what it can do to help is pushed even further to the back of their mind (and maybe even forgotten entirely!)

This is when they start to think… maybe I don’t need this product? maybe I ordered too quickly? Then comes the request for a refund.

Do you see what I mean? Because they forgot the benefits and features they also forgot the reason why they need this product.

Here’s how to fix this and it’ll take less than 5 minutes to do…

Go to your sales letter for the product you’re selling then copy all the benefits and features you have listed (probably as bullet points). Then paste them above the download links they relate to on your thank you page.

This way when people arrive at your thank you page they’ll see exactly what they’re getting and they’ll be reminded as to why they ordered in the first place.

You see even though people are sold on your sales letter they still need to be reminded that they did something that made sense and aligned with their own goals after they’ve ordered from you.

So there you have it. You now know how to make your thank you page more profitable and how to increase customer satisfaction in two simple steps.

I’m using these tactics on all my own thank you pages from now on.
