I see it myself every day, you have these “expert” marketers that have become the very best in their field. Everyone looks up to them, admires their skills and amazing rags to riches stories. They get the most traffic, the most subscribers, and the most profits.

But try sending them an email or asking them a simple question and you’ll most likely get the cold shoulder. In many cases the best you might get is an automated email reply directing you to their support desk where one of their “trained” staff can help you.

Have they become a victim of their own success, so busy running their operation that they no longer have time to for a one-to-one conversation with one or two of their subscribers or customers?

The other day I had this superb email arrive the other day from a subscriber I had been helping out with their website for the past couple of months (again they made me wonder how much the gurus really care)…

Of all the email marketing offers I receive on a daily basis, I believe that your offers have more appeal, less hype, and that I’ll get more reliable information for every dollar spent.

As a visitor to a website you probably hate them, but as the website owner there’s a very good chance you’ll actually love them (but only if you use them right).

Why? because love them or hate them, popups flat out work!

It’s all about grabbing your website visitors attention for a few seconds more. Perhaps when they arrive at your website you might offer a free subscription to your newsletter, or when they leave you might use your popup window to find out why they’re leaving! The possibilities are only limited by your the your imagination.

I for one have been using Popup windows for years with huge success and I’ve spoken with countless other online marketers who’s experience has been just the same.

It really puts on the pressure for people to make a decission. If you don’t optin within the next 6 minutes 59 seconds this offer ends. And as you’re sitting there you can see the countdown time rapidly ticking away.

You see popup windows aren’t just about showing people random ads for unrelated products, which is probably what  you hate about popups right? (it is for me!). Popup windows should be all about adding more value to your website or when done very carefully using the psychology of persuasion to get people to take action.

One of the most confusing and down right frustrating things I’ve found with adding popup windows to WordPress blogs is all the bits of code you have to mess around with just to get it to work.
